The Contemporary Lovers of Mevlana Association, as an extension of the Universal Lovers of Mevlana Foundation, presented a special Sufi music concert and Sema Ceremony on 21 January, 2001. In cooperation with the Needy Children Aid Society, the ceremony and concert were presented at the Galata Mevlevi Temple in Istanbul, with all proceeds going to support needy children. In keeping with the enlightened philosophy of the Exalted Mevlana, the Contemporary Lovers of Mevlana continue to support and cooperate with those offering service to society and trying to help those with limited resources. Before the concert an explanation was given of the urgencey of such activities to sustain the work of the Needy Children, Aid Society; and the officer of the society thanked the Contemporary Lovers of Mevlana Association for its humanitarian assistance.
