Thirty-one members of the Contemporary Lovers of Mevlana were in Greece from 19 to 25 August , 2000 , where they presented the Sufi Music concert and Sema Ceremony five times. The first stop was Komotini; there are an audience of 2500 was enthralled by the music and Sema. The program was highlighted on the evening news, and the following program in Larisa drew even a larger crowd. The Greek people were very warm and accepting of us, and they were also charmed by the love and affection they saw in our members. After that we presented the concert and ceremony two evenings in another open air theatre in Thessalonika , and a third evening as part of the municipality’s Balkan Festival. The respect and enthusiasm of the audience was striking i and afterwards, instead of immediately leaving the theatre many people gathered around our Honorary President Hasan Çıkar. They asked about the ceremony, about our patron saint Mevlana, and about this path of Love. Again it was apparent that people are in search of something that will foster love and peace and brotherhood in their lives. In this ceremony and these words and this path they saw a living way of unity , love and beauty.
